A series of three progress and validation workshops were hosted by the ACP Partners during the second year of the project (2015) to refine and test the proposed Masters modules and teaching material, and to prepare for the accreditation process:
Polytechnic of Namibia, 02-06 February 2015
From Monday 02 February through Friday 06 February, the team of the Polytechnic of Namibia hosted the first of a series of PARTICIPIA Validation Workshops. The workshop was opened by Poly Rector, Prof. Tjama Tjivikua and counted with the presence of Ambassador Raul Fuentes Milani, Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Namibia. The workshop focused on the validation of the content of the Masters Modules, the development of case studies from Namibia for use as teaching material, and familiarising local lecturers from the Polytechnic of Namibia with the module contents. University of Botswana, 09-13 February 2015
The workshop hosted by the Team of the University of Botswana took place from Monday 09 February through Friday 13 February at the Conference Centre of the Mokolodi Nature Reserve just outside of Gaborone. The workshop focused on the validation of the content of the Masters Modules, the development of case studies from Botswana for use as teaching material, and familiarising local lecturers with the module contents (see the Workshop Program). Day 2 of the workshop was dedicated to Participatory Rural Approaches (PRA) in the nearby village of Mmokolodi (see the PRA Workshop Program).

Stellenbosch University, 07-11 September 2015
From Monday 07 through Friday 11 September 2015, the PARTICIPIA team of Stellenbosch University hosted the third and last of the series of PARTICIPIA Progress Workshops. The Workshop took place at the Stellenbosch Institute for Advanced Study (STIAS) and focused on the case studies, the accreditation of the PARTICIPIA Masters program and modules, and financial reporting. Workshop participants visited the nearby Enkanini settlement to facilitate work on the South Africa case study.
